Who can claim?
Many international students and temporary visa holders overpay the Medicare levy without realising they can claim it back. You may be eligible if:
- You're a temporary visa holder (e.g. student) not entitled to Medicare
- You don't have an Australian permanent resident family member covering you
- You were not eligible for Medicare for all or part of the year
